HARE KRSNA!

Sri Caitanya Caritamrita Sets Now Available at ISV!

Dear Friends,

Hope this meets you all well.

We are excited to announce the upcoming Gaura Purnima festival which embarks the appearance of Lord Caitanya, who is none other than Lord Krishna Himself who has kindly appeared in Kali Yuga to deliver all. Even though the age of Kali is full of sin, there is one great benediction which needs to be celebrated. Yes, it is not ordinarily not possible to get deliverance from the cycle of birth and death in Kali Yuga but the most merciful Lord Caitanya has given us the TREASURE which can unlock the key to the spiritual world. Therefore with arms raised up to the sky we proclaim: "People of the world, celebrate, oh celebrate because you have been born in this Age of Kali, which is the best, for you can collect the treasure of love from Lord Caitanya!" On this most auspicious occasion, we at ISKCON of Silicon Valley, would like to present to you the Sri Caitanya Caritamrita book, a biography of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu. It is one of the most wonderful and important classics of the renaissance India and anyone reading this will immensely benefit from it.

What Bengal has produced for the country and this world, perhaps no other Indian state matches that feat. Often termed as the "Oxford of the East". Bengal has a rich literary and cultural heritage, having been the seat of both the traditional Vedic and western science education and a major industrial hub in pre and post independent India.

However the history of Bengal has been further embellished beyond measure due to the appearance of a divine personality - Sri Caitanya, the incarnation of Krsna, who appeared in Navadwipa (Bengal) five hundred years ago. Sri Caitanya introduced the chanting of the holy name of God as the prescribed method of God realization for our time. He was the inaugurator of the Kirtan Movement.

Lord Chaitanya transformed the face of India in four respects: philosophically, by encountering, defeating and converting the greatest philosophers and thinkers of His day; religiously, by organizing the largest, most widespread theistic movement in India's history; socially, by His strong challenges to the religious inequities of the caste system; politically, by His organization of a massive civil disobedience movement in Bengal, more than four centuries before Gandhi.

A documentary on the life of Śrī Caitanya showcasing the places he visited in India can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wh5YYAFwetM

Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta is the main work on the life and teachings of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. This English translation with commentary, by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, reveals his consummate Bengali and Sanskrit scholarship, his intimate familiarity with the precepts of Śrī Caitanya, and his pure devotion to God. The original dust-jacket pictures are printed directly onto the book's covers.

The set consists of Hardbound, 9 volumes, 7379 total pages, 6" x 9", printed on butter-yellow paper. On the occasion of appearance day of Śrī Caitanya, to be celebrated worldwide on the day of Holi, March 5, we are pleased to provide these sets at special discounted rate of 99$/set (and is tax deductable, excluding shipping charges).
