Vedic Academy offers Sunday School for kids from age group 3 - 15 yrs every Sunday from 4 - 6pm where kids learn about Vedic Culture, Slokas, Stories & Lessons from Bhagavad Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam etc., Bhajans and participate in Arts & Crafts, Dramas and much more.

Important Housekeeping Instructions for Janamastami Festival at ISV - Must Read

Dear Esteemed Devotees,

We are celebrating Sri Krsna Janamastami at ISV this Thursday, Aug 25th, 2016.  Like every year, we are expecting thousands of visitors, especially in the evening. This email is to gently remind you to keep the following housekeeping items in mind so that everyone has a memorable experience.

1.       Smile!!  It is Krsna's birthday!

2.       For smooth passage, keep all entrances clear. Please co-operate with the Reception teams who will be operating both inside and outside the main hall. Enter through the areas marked for entrance and exit through the areas marked for exit.

3.       Prep your kids before coming to the temple that they need to keep the noise level down, and there should be no running around.

4.       Please do not bring the strollers inside the temple.

5.       Safety is of utmost importance to all.  Please make sure that kids do not play on the street.  If you find some, chaperone them back to the temple and inform Govind Caran Prabhu or Sukesvari Mtj who are security in-charges.  Please cross the road safely.

6.       Be courteous to the guests and make sure that they get a place to sit.

7.       In order to give chance to the visitors to come in, please do not stay inside the hall for too long during the kirtans.

8.       Please try to make your darshan brief and quick to allow continuous movement of the queue.

9.       During prasadam honoring time, please make sure that guests, older devotees and mothers with small kids get served first.  Please keep noise level to a minimum.

10.    If you see any suspicious activities please contact Govind Caran Prabhu, Hansapriya dasi or any of the members of the crowd control team.

11.    If you find things lying around then deposit it at the ISV CONNECT Booth

12.    If you find trash lying around,  please deposit it in a trash can nearby. Need service? please check at Volunteer Helpdesk.

13.    When taking off your shoes please make sure you keep them neatly in the space provided. Volunteers will be there to guide.(See/read details below carefully)

Shoes Do's & DONT's

Do's

a) All Visitors and Temple congregation must use the New Shoe Facility. Volunteers will be around to take the shoes, give tokens etc.

 

b) If you are a volunteer then please use the  Self Service System (same as last year), since most likely you would be constantly going in and out and have to take off and put on shoes more frequently. Bags hanging from the hook should be used to keep your shoes. No Token is required. Remember your bag spot.

Don't's

a) Don't put your shoes anywhere else except the places mentioned above.

b) We are not responsible for shoes not placed on the designated spots.

As we expect more visitors this year, we humbly request all the congregation members to park their car at the following suggested locations in the PDF below.  Also please you will get gentle reminder by Radha Kripa Prabhu and his team.

Child Watch Facilities

This year we are offering child Watch Facilities all day through, from 9am to 9pm for the Parent Volunteers of our Sunday School Kids. This is run in the following batches: 

Govinda Charan Prabhu from 9am-5pm and 

Sukesvari Mataji from 5pm to 9pm.

Last Sunday Devotees at ISV pledged to raise over 50K Lakshmi as goal for Janamsthmi to offer to Srila Prabhupada in anticipation for 50 years of ISKCON formation and his upcoming Vyasa Puja.

AUGUST 25, THURSDAY : GRAND JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATION

Sri Krishna Janmashtami - Celebrations of divine appearance of Lord Sri Krishna. Devotees all over the world celebrate this festival to express their desire to serve the Supreme Lord and to glorify Him. Please join us to hear from H.G Vaisesika Prabhu and our special honored guests H.H. Giriraj Swami, H.H. Keshava Bharati Das Goswami  & H.H Rtadvja Swami as they take us through a beautiful discourse on various pastimes of Lord Krishna. 

Their Lordships Caitanya Mahaprabhu, Sri Sri Radha Madanamohana and Sri Narasimhadeva are magnificently dressed and adorned with jewelleries and colourful fragrant flowers on this day.  Devotees observe a full-day fast. As a part of the celebrations, the temple has scheduled devotional activities throughout the day, like Kirtans, discussing pastimes of Krishna & much more starting. Lord Krishna’s bathing ceremony – called Abhishek – is witnessed by all attendees while sponsors get opportunity to personally bathe the Lord.

 JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATION SPONSORSHIP 2016

This year Sri Krishna Janmastami, Lord Krishna’s divine appearance day, falls on August 25th, Thursday.

We are planning a spectacular festival. Starting 4:30am until 1am, for the Krishna’s pleasure. Time will be filled with continuous bhajans, kirtanas, talk about Krishna, puja offerings etc,. ending with the midnight ararti, kirtana and prasadam distribution. Free dinner, prasadam feast, will be served to all. There will be also special children’s activities.

Traditionally, Janmastami is time of giving. Devotees give, donate towards, and sponsor the worship of Sri Krishna. Having said that, we have sponsorship and service opportunities as we are expecting over 7000 visitors to come to the temple throughout the day. We humbly request you to extend your support this year to celebrate Lord Krsna's birthday in grandeur.
