Hope this meets you all well. 

After a series of festivals, we are now excited to welcome two of our special visiting guests this weekend coupled with ISV Annual Kids Rath Yata. It's refreshing to be part of these spiritual activities filled with joy, love and devotion. 

We extend a warm welcome to you and your family to join us for the classes and events this week at ISV!

SATURDAY, SEP 2 - SPECIAL SEMINAR (PART 1&2)


Join us to dive deep into a special sanskrit seminar presented by the exper H.G Radhika Raman Das (Dr. Ravi Gupta) this weekend. 

The aim of this seminar is to give students an appreciation for the beauty and utility of Sanskrit language. The course will focus on those aspects of the language which are practically useful for the study of Srila Prabhupada's books. This will be a skills based seminar (although it includes some philosophy as well).

8.00 - 10.30am:  "Sanskrit for Scriptural Study - Part 1" by H.G Radhika Raman Das

10:30 - 11.30 am -  Prasadam

11:30 - 2.00pm -   "Sanskrit for Scriptural Study - Part 2" by H.G Radhika Raman Das

SATURDAY, SEP 2 - KIDS RATH YATRA & MONTHLY KIRTAN OASIS FESTIVAL 

We cordially invite you, your family and your friends to participate in the very auspicious Kids Rath Yatra cum monthly Kirtan Oasis Festival on Saturday, September 2nd at 5.59 PM. Please do not miss this golden opportunity to chant the holy name and pull the holy rope of Lord Jagannath's Chariot. Please invite your friends. The more the merrier!!

5.59 PM- Kids Rath Yatra program starts at Elinor Cogswell plaza/park(264 Lytton Avenue between Ramona and Bryant streets) 

6.10 PM- Aarti performed by kids 

6.20 PM- 56 bhoga offering. 

6.35 PM- Kids get chance to pull the Chariot around the Park

7.05 PM-Kids perform Kirtan, pull the Chariot and proceed towards Lytton Plaza on University Avenue (220 University Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94301). Route will be via Lytton Ave and Emerson Ave(See route in attachment).

7.30 PM- Rath reaches Lytton Plaza.

9.00 PM- Prasadam

Please note that Harinam will start at Lytton Plaza at 5.59 PM while Rath Yatra is going on in the park.  Kids will do the Kirtan at Cogswell Plaza and also while Ratha goes Lytton Plaza.

All kids should be accompanied by a parent at all times. Volunteer help is needed and much appreciated.

SUNDAY,  SEP 3 - CONCLUDING SEMINAR (PART 3)

Please join us for the last session of the three part seminar on the topic, "Sanskrit for Scriptural Study" by H.G Radhika Raman Das on Sunday morning.  

11:30am - 2:00pm: "Sanskrit for Scriptural Study - Part 3" by H.G Radhika Raman Das

Ravi M. Gupta, also known as Radhika Ramana Dasa, is a notable Vaisnava scholar. He holds the Charles Redd Chair of Religious Studies and serves as Director of the Religious Studies Program at Utah State University. He is the author of The Caitanya Vaiṣṇava Vedānta of Jīva Gosvāmī (Routledge, 2007),[co-editor of The Bhāgavata Purāṇa: Sacred Text and Living Tradition , editor of Caitanya Vaiṣṇava Philosophy: Tradition Reason and Devotion and co-author of The Bhāgavata Purāṇa: Selected Readings.

He completed his doctorate in Hindu Studies at Oxford University and subsequently taught at the University of Florida, Centre College, and the College of William and Mary. He has received four teaching awards, a National Endowment for the Humanities summer fellowship, two research fellowships at Oxford, and a book award. He is a Permanent Research Fellow of the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies and past president the Society for Hindu-Christian Studies. He is also a member of the faculty at Bhaktivedanta College.  Radhika Raman Das lectures widely on topics related to Vaishnava bhakti traditions, Vedanta philosophy, interreligious dialogue, and the relationship between scholarship and practice.

MONDAY , SEP 4 - SPECIAL TALK BY VISITING GUEST SPEAKER

We cordially welcome you a special talk by H.G Gaur Gopal Das, a senior monk in the Gaudiya Vaisnava tradition and motivational speaker. Known for this humor and delectable speeches, its a great honor and privilege to host him at ISV. Join us for an enlightening talk on "Getting Relationships Right" by H.G Gaur Gopal Das on the labor day.

Gaur Gopal Das is a Bhakti monk and a life coach. Living and serving in a monastery in Mumbai (India), Gaur Gopal das has been actively speaking at various prestigious universities and corporate firms both in India and abroad for over two decades. His motivational talks at Infosys, Barclays, Bank of America, E&Y and Ford have been very well received. He regularly visits the members of the Rotary & Lions Club for talks and guides various top ranking celebrities and corporate leaders. He has also spoken at several TEDx events. In 2016, he gave a talk at the British Parliament. Gaur Gopal Das was awarded the 2016 Rotary International's Super Achiever Award for his outstanding contribution in the field of spirituality and inspiration. Known for his profound yet humorous talks, he is very popular in Social media including approximately 1M followers to his Youtube channel. Based on the timeless wisdom coming down from ages, his talks make the audience think deeper and find simple solutions to difficult problems.

ISV's (New) NAVADWIP PRESCHOOL


Navadwip Preschool is a new education initiative of ISV that is meant for kids of age 3 to 5 year old.
It is  open Monday thru Friday from 9 am to 12 noon and is located in Sunnyvale at the intersection of El Camino and Mary. The start date is November 29, 2016. You can enroll for this preschool for your child at the earliest.

The curriculum is based on California (CA) state standards educational structure as well as Vedic Culture. A foreign language Sanskrit with structured instructions will also be a part of the curriculum. Maximum of 15 children can be enrolled in this session.

Vedic Academy offers Sunday School for kids from age group 3 - 15 yrs every Sunday from 4 - 6pm where kids learn about Vedic Culture, Slokas, Stories & Lessons from Bhagavad Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam etc., Bhajans and participate in Arts & Crafts, Dramas and much more.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 29 - ECSTATIC RADHASHTAMI CELEBRATIONS

Dear Friends,

Hope this meets you all well. 

After the grand Janmashtami festival, we are now looking forward and eagerly making arrangements to celebrate the auspicious appearance day festival of our divine mother, Srimati Radharani. Radharani is the consort of Krishna. Radharani's special qualification is that She is the best devotee of Krishna. Krishna therefore loves Her the most. On Her festival day, devotees will especially ask Her to grant them devotion to Her beloved Lord, knowing that if they can attain Her favor, they can attain His as a natural consequence!
