| | Dear Friends and Patrons "The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: My dear sons of the King, I am very much pleased by the friendly relationships among you. All of you are engaged in one occupation — devotional service. I am so pleased with your mutual friendship that I wish you all good fortune. Now you may ask a benediction of Me." - Srimad Bhagavatam 4.30.8 As per the new guidelines released by the County Health Department, ISV temple management will share the plan to safely reopen ISV temple. Stay tuned! | | BHAGAVATA-SEVA ANNOUNCEMENT Devotees at ISKCON of Silicon Valley (ISV) invite you to join the Bhagavata-seva project to follow up with people who purchase Srimad-Bhagavatam. The ISV Sunday school program, which started as a small spiritual-care program for a handful of children, has not only been successfully running for the past 18-years, but now also has more than one-hundred and thirty students between the age of 0-18. Each student receives a curriculum-based spiritual education – "from womb to college room" – organized and presented by a robust team of dedicated teachers and administrators. Even though Sunday schools are currently available at almost all larger ISKCON communities, most of them do not facilitate children in remote areas who desperately need and long for spiritual peer association and systematic training in Krsna consciousness. To fill this gap, a year ago, the devotees at ISV organized the Bhagavata-seva, that makes spiritual education available to devotee children and spiritually inclined families anywhere in the world through Internet conference. The program features a weekly online class for children between the ages of three to seventeen. The teachers of Bhagavata-seva hold classes once a week over a short semester. Children are taught stories, shlokas, drawing, and bhajans; older kids learn singing, Deity worship, and cooking. To ensure that these classes are affordable and reach the maximum number of interested kids possible, the fees for the classes are nominal. Bhagatava-seva is unique because participants not only get a spiritual education, but they also simultaneously support book distribution. That's because all fees received for the Bhagavata–seva classes go directly to sponsor and distribute of sets of Srimad-Bhagavatam; to date, the fees from Bhagavata–seva have paid for the distribution of one-hundred and twenty-seven Srimad-Bhagavatam worldwide; and the numbers are growing. In summary, Bhagavata–seva enables children everywhere to connect to devotee communities while acquiring a systematized spiritual education, what to speak of supporting the distribution of Srila Prabhupada's books to the struggling masses of this material world. If you wish to learn more about this program; or, if you are interested in starting a Bhagavat-seva in your area; or, if you wish to register your children for upcoming classes, please contact us at Bhagavataseva.global@gmail.com | | BHAGAVAD GITA AS IT IS - Chapter A Day (CHAD) "As Arjuna set aside his bow and arrows, let us set aside any sense of confidence in our own abilities so that we may hear Krsna's words with full heart and attention. This kind of submissive hearing is the primary requirement for advancement in spiritual life. The devotee who hears Krsna's words with a submissive heart immediately feels an ingress of causeless knowledge and detachment." - H. G.
