PARKING INFORMATION:

 

 We have got special permissions to park at the following locations during the Janmashtami festival. We kindly request you to park only at those locations and other permitted street parking spaces. 

PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN ANY OF THE NEARBY APARTMENT COMPLEXES. Your vehicle will be towed away

 

Please take note of the parking information

• Absolutely no parking at Sizzler. Your vehicle will be towed away.  Please note that the walking gate entrance into the temple premises from El Camino side through Sizzler is closed
•• Your safety is utmost important. 
• Be careful about kids playing outside on Latham Street, it is a busy street, therefore, we need your help to ensure safely of everyone.

 

• You can park your vehicles at the following locations:

 

Parking lot 1 location:
• Atrium Business Center: 1975 El Camino Real West, Mountain View, CA 94040. 
• Parking Capacity: ~100
• We will run shuttle service from Parking lot 1 to the TEMPLE.
• Shuttle will run from 6pm onwards. Frequency: 10 min.
 
Parking lot 2 Location:
• Location address: Mariano Castro Elementary School, 505 Escuela Ave, Mountain View, CA 
• Parking capacity: 40:   Walking distance: ~4 min
 
Parking lot 3 location:

We will have our parking service volunteers who will be able to direct/help you with parking your vehicles. Please note that these parking lots are only a few minutes away from the temple. GRAND SRI KRSNA JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATIONS ON AUGUST 28th 2013 at ISV

The most awaited moment of the year is around the corner. Every year at ISV, Sri Krsna Janmashtami is celebrated with great pomp and festivities. This year is more special because this is the FIRST JANMASHTAMI at our new temple in Mountain View. The festival begins at 4.30 am with Mangala Arati and Darshan is open from 7.30 am until midnight. There are programs throughout the day with special events in the evening that includes Kirtans, Sri Krsna Abhishek, Discourses, Jhulan seva, Arati and much more.

ISKCON of Silicon Valley (ISV) extends a warm welcome to you, your family and friends on the auspicious occasion of Sri Krsna Janmashtami on Wednesday, August 28th 2013. The auspicious day of the appearance of Lord Krishna is celebrated all over the world as Sri Krishna  Janmashtami. It is celebrated on the eighth day of the Krishna Paksha (waning moon) of the month  of Shraavan. Krishna, who is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, appeared in Mathura as son of  Vasudeva and Devaki.

"As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, the Lord says that His appearance, birth, and activities, are all  transcendental, and one who understands them factually becomes immediately eligible to be transferred to the spiritual world. " Lord Krishna Himself in Bhagavad gita, Chapter 4 text 8 describes the reason of His appearance as follows:

paritranaya sadhunam

vinasaya ca duskrtam

dharma-samsthapanarthaya

sambhavami yuge yuge

What's all this controversy about the second edition of "Bhagavad Gita As It Is"? What was done? Was it authorized? Is it really "as it is"?

Since then, this weekly Sunday Love Feast festival is celebrated in all Hare Krishna temples around the world. We extend a warm and hearty welcome to you, your friends and family. Today is the grand festival of chariots (Sri  Jagannath Rath Yatra) at San Franciso. It is a magnificent sight to see the traditional Rath yatra festival in the heart of San Francisco being pulled by the thousands of devotees with a wonderful darshan of Sri Sri Jagannatha, Baladeva and Subhadra devi. Please join us for this auspicious festival starting today at 11 am at Golden Gate Park, SFO. 

Because of this festival, WE WILL NOT BE HAVING OUR REGULAR SUNDAY FEAST PROGRAM AT ISV TODAY. We look forward to seeing you all at the Festival of Chariots!

FESTIVAL OF CHARIOTS

You are all invited to the San Francisco Rath Yatra this coming Sunday, August 18.

WHAT: "The Festival of the Chariots"
WHERE: Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, JFK & Transverse to Sharon Meadows
WHEN: SUNDAY, AUGUST 18th at 11AM

 

JHULAN YATRA (SWING CEREMONY)

Jhulana-yatra is a festival to celebrate Radha Krishna's pastime of swinging on a golden swing everyday starting from Devshayani Ekadashi (yesterday) until Balarama-purnima. The swing (jhulana) is beautified with splendid flower decorations, colorful beads, etc. A special flower rope is used to pull the swing. An arotik is performed after Sri Sri Radha Madan-Mohan are seated on the swing, while devotees pull the rope.
