Please find below a summary of the final results from the Janmastami-Vyasa Puja Monthly Sankirtana Festival (MSF) of ‘Taking Shelter of the Holy Names’ that were offered on Monday (August 22) at the occasion celebrating Srila Prabhupada’s divine appearance day at the ISV temple in San Jose.
The goals of this MSF were:
- To distribute at least 3501 books and
- To raise at least $6000 in Laxmi points
To glorify Krishna, to enlighten conditioned souls and to lift them from the darkness of ignorance, ISV devotees spread the Holy Names through massive book distribution over a period of one month, starting in late July.
MSF Highlights
The highlights included: (1) distribution of over 2,000 books at the San Francisco Ratha Yatra and during two Harinama performances in Palo Alto, one of which included a children’s Rath Yatra organized by ISV Sunday school kids; (2) placement of over 2200 Bhagavad Gitas by the MotelGita team members in various motels across the US; and (3) distribution of close to one thousand books at an Indian independence day festival in Fremont.
ISV devotees also went door-to-door to distribute books and the Smart Box team distributed books at different establishments through Smart Boxes placed there. Several Srimad Bhagavatam sets were also distributed through the temple. Devotees also made Sankirtana donations including online donations to support and sponsor the cause of book distribution.
MSF Results Summary
Here is the summary of the Final Results:
In all:
- More than 70 devotees participated in book distribution
- They distributed 8,092 books, which crosses last year’s total of 5850 books
We are grateful to all MSF participants and all donors who contributed to sponsor and support book distribution, as well as to ISV Sankirtana leaders for their meticulous planning to successfully realize the goals of this MSF.
