Read Bhagavad Gita during Brahma Muhurta + CHAD Reminder & Dial-in Info - Gandharvika Mataji

Dear Devotees,

Please accept our most humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupad!

In this Kali-yuga,we lead a complex life, mostly devoid of Krishna consciousness, we keep running behind so many things and struggle a lot to acquire them and later continue the struggle more to maintain them. In spite of spending 99.9% of our time in achieving happiness through material means, our heart is full of anxiety, frustration and lamentation.

In this regard, we came across a following story. Once there lived a king, who presented a diamond necklace for his daughter. One day the necklace was lost and the king made an announcement that he will reward the person who finds it. One of the king's minister while passing along a dirty lake, saw something shimmering and when he bent further down, he found that it was the necklace.  Inspite of the fact that the lake was very dirty, the minsiter put his hands inside the filthy water and tried to grab the necklace. But to his disappointment he was not able to get it. A sage was passing by. The sage compassionately inquired him what the problem was. After great hesitation, the minister confided that however hard he tried, he was not able to get the necklace. The sage smiled and replied that he should stop looking into the filthy water and should start looking upwards. The minister looked up and true enough the necklace was dangling on the branch of a tree. He had been trying to capture the mere reflection of the necklace all this time.

Srimad Bhagavatam 1.7.7, gives the solution - "Simply by giving aural reception to this Vedic literature, the feeling for loving devotional service to Lord Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, sprouts up at once to extinguish the fire of lamentation, illusion and fearfulness." In his purport to the same verse, Srila Prabhupad writes  -  "Everyone is full of lamentation at every moment, he is after the mirage of illusory things, and he is always afraid of his supposed enemy. These are the primary symptoms of material disease. And it is definitely suggested herein simply by hearing the message of Srimad-Bhagavatam one gets attachment for the Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Krishna, and as soon as this is effected the symptoms of the material diseases disappear."

"Make plans to sit with sincere devotees to hear and discuss the Srimad-Bhagavatam. Simply by doing this on a regular basis, you will feel cleansed and edified. And one who faithfully continues this practice will, in due course of time, see the Lord sitting upon the altar of his purified heart. " - HG Vaisesika Prabhu

Tomorrow is the all-auspicious Ekadashi day, per our CHAD plan, we will be reading Bhagavad Gita verses from 18.1 to 18.38 for the next one month until 15 May 2012.

Let us make a sincere effort to read Bhagavad-Gita every day. This is our only real protection. As HG Vaisesika Prabhu writes "The devotee who hears Krsna's words with a submissive heart immediately feels an ingress of causeless knowledge and detachment.  Krsna is attentively watching us at every second and is ready to guide and shelter us. Therefore, today, and everyday, may we recite the divine slokas in Bhagavad-gita not by rote. Rather, with the urgency of a man or woman trapped in a burning house, let sing them aloud, calling for Krsna's protection."

All glories to Srila Prabhupad!  Tomorrow is the all-auspicious Ekadashi day, per our 3 month CHAD plan, we will be reading Bhagavad Gita Chapter 14 for the next one month! Srila Prabhuad writes.."...The word ekadashi (literally, "the eleventh day") refers to two days a month: the eleventh day after the new moon and the eleventh day after the full moon.On these days, devotees strive to deepen their attitude of loving service to Krishna by using even more of their time to chant Hare Krishna, read books like Bhagavad-gitä and Srimad-Bhägavatam, and discuss topics of devotional service.
To observe ekadashi, devotees also simplify their diet by fasting from grains and beans...People today follow all sorts of harsh or complicated diets to improve their health or enhance their spirituality, but simply by observing this ekadashi diet twice a month one can easily improve one's health and enrich one's spiritual life. You can easily observe ekadashi to advance in Krishna consciousness, even at home, and this is recommended in Vedic literature...." - Back To Godhead Magazine#16-10,1981

We wish you a Happy CHAD & Krishna conscious 2011!

Hare Krishna Dear Devotees,

Testimonials from our sincere Kartik CHAD performers indicate that CHAD has left them with lingering transcendental aftertaste & a desire to chant more. It is very rare to get this taste and we should try all our best to maintain this enthusiasm. Srila Prabhupada mentions that "So, everything begins with faith (Shraddha). For example, the people here have come with a little faith. That faith is like a spark. Now you have to fan it so that it becomes a blazing fire... Just like there is small fire in the charcoal. You fan it, and it will gradually become a big fire. So this Krishna consciousness movement is fanning that spiritual spark to come into full consciousness. Go on fanning like that. That is the rules and regulation, attending this class, hearing this Srimad-Bhagavatam, Bhagavad-gita. Twenty-four hours be engaged. That is real business." -Srimad-Bhägavatam 1.15.44 - Los Angeles, December 22, 1973.

With the mercy & blessings of HG Vaisheshika Prabhu blended with your enthusiasm, ISV is determined to keep the CHAD wheels running. In order to assist the business of every CHAD performer to do their bit so that the wheels never stop, CHAD team has come up with the following 3 month plan.  If you are inspired to do some other chapter you may do so. Main goal is to chant one chapter of Bhagavad-Gita every day.  Attached is the 12th chapter of Bhagavad-Gita in CHAD format.
