Dear Friends,
Hope this meets you all well.
Our capacity to think is a great gift. But, it is a gift that humans often take for granted or neglect altogether. Noting this, Thomas Edison wrote: "There is no expedient to which a man will not revert to avoid the labor of thinking." How we develop and direct our thinking power is vital however, because at the time of death, our thoughts carry us to our next destination. And one who remembers Krishna upon leaving his body will go back to Him in the spiritual world.
Devotees therefore, daily read the Srimad-Bhagavatam, which was written especially to help us think of Krishna. In his introduction to the Bhagavad-gita As It Is, Srila Prabhupada writes:"Just to transfer their thinking power to the spiritual sky, Krishna-dvaipayana Vyasa has given a great number of Vedic literatures."
The Vedic literatures especially the Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavad Gita are the valuable treasures of the human society and there are answers to every question in these books. We, at the ISKCON of Silicon Valley, strive to spread the sublime teachings of these transcendental literatures through our weekly discourses and other activities. Please take advantage of the wonderful opportunity that is presented to us to perfect our precious lives!
We extend a warm welcome to you and your family to join us for the classes and events at ISV this week!
