There are ups and downs in everybody's life, sometimes even turbulences. But the Bhakti practitioners do not let such situations affect them because they know that there is a positive way of deriving spiritual inspiration even during adverse circumstances in life: it is through chanting God's holy names. The Hare Krishna maha-mantra can be compared to a seed, from which all other processes in devotional service grow. Just like it is possible for a tree to grow from a seed and produce many fruits and sprout branches - it is just as possible  that the Holy Name gives us everything.
