Our first Ahimsa Cow: Surabhi

Hare Krishna to One and All.

Wishing all of you a Wonderful Diwali!

On this auspicious occasion and in the spirit of "Always Better Service" here at ISKCON of Silicon Valley, we wish to inform you of a very happy development.

With the blessings of their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Madan Mohan, Sriman Mahahprabhu and Srila Prabhupada we have started the Surabhi Project by housing our first cow - Surabhi - at Live Earth Farms where she enjoys the beautiful atmosphere and loving care. Stay tuned for details of upcoming farm visits, a fun filled event for the whole family.

We hope this new phase in ISV journey will enrich you all and bring everyone closer to Sri Krishna, protector of Cows and Brahmanas!

The milk and vegetables from the farm are being used to prepare bhoga for their Lordships.

This auspicious Kartik month is a favorite month of Lord Krishna.  During this month devotional service is enhanced a thousand-fold and brings the devotee immense spiritual benefits. This is the perfect month to perform acts of charity and none are better than that done to support and protect the cow.

"The cow is the past and future. She nourishes the health of all living entities, and she is the root of prosperity. The piety one achieves by feeding a cow in never destroyed."                                - Gavopanishada Text 2.

We request all our congregation and community at large to come forward and support this Surabhi Project by either becoming a monthly donor or by a one time donation to support the cause.Even a donation of $1/day goes a long way in furthering the project.

Donating is easy:

Just go to our temple website www.iskconsiliconvalley.com and select 'ISV Temple' on the Donate page and make a donation to support this project.
