Harinam Sankirtan, also known as Nagar Sankirtana, was inaugurated by Lord Chaitanya over 500 years ago to publicly chant these names and not only benefit oneself but also give it out freely to others. He graduated first place in Psychology in 1970 with minor studies in Biology and Electrical Engineering but left his Doctoral studies to go East. From there he got a Black Belt in Okinawan Karate and became a disciple of Srila Prabhupada in 1974. He served most of the time in the Temple in San Francisco and later with His Sannyasa Guru, Bhakti-svarupa Damodara Swami, with the Bhakti-vedanta Institute.
