Ananda Vardhana Campaign

Dearest ISV Devotees,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

We are in the process of writing content to be used in brochures,
flyers etc. for Ananda Vardhana Campaign. Hearing all of your
beautiful offerings to Vaisesika Prabhu last Saturday inspired me. I
would like to use testimonials in our fundraising publications. I
humbly request all ISV devotees to please write a testimonial,
describing the benefits you feel for yourselves, your children and
your families, as a result of participating in ISV programs. Please
take some time to write one to three paragraphs. We will use these
personal endorsements in power point presentations, flyers and
brochures in the future. Please submit your writing to my email
address jagarini.dasi@gmail.com by Friday, Oct 4.

Your grateful servant,
Jagarini dd

MSF of Loving Exchanges 2011

Dear Devotees,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

dadati pratigrhnati
guhyam akhyati prcchati
bhunkte bhojayate caiva
sad-vidham priti-laksanam

“Offering gifts in charity, accepting charitable gifts, revealing one’s mind in confidence, inquiring confidentially, accepting prasada and offering prasada are the six symptoms of love shared by one devotee and another” (Nectar of Instruction, Text 4)

The Monthly Sankirtana Festival (MSF) of Loving Exchanges 2011, based on the six-fold loving reciprocations mentioned in the above verse, was concluded yesterday and the final results offered to their Lordships and to Srila Prabhupada during the Wednesday night Gita class held at the ISV temple in San Jose.

Goals Accomplished
To facilitate loving exchanges among devotees and to carry out the goals of this MSF, members of team ISV:
·      Wrote about the importance of loving exchanges and glorification of various ISV departments/services and presented their paragraphs at the Wednesday night Gita class
·      Acknowledged the college preaching program and devotees for their service to ISV and the Sankirtana movement, which include: conducting weekly Bhagavad Gita/vegetarian cooking classes at San Jose State and Stanford Universities, arranging lectures and programs with esteemed speakers and visiting Acharyas, developing the 'ISV Bhakti Center' near the college campus for students, offering services during festival times, conducting corporate seminars, and participating in book distribution and MSF;
·      Held a meeting with department heads and leaders to: (a) set a book distribution goal (of 32,000 books) through the end of the year for the annual marathon and (b) brain stormed improvements to our sankirtana program making it more fun and easy to carry out.

Book Distribution Results
In addition, Team ISV held an ecstatic Hari Nama Sankirtana performance in Palo Alto on September 8 with improvements added to our ways of preaching, broadcasting the holy names and distributing books and prasadam. During the same weekend, devotees also went out to spots in San Jose including the Spanish market where they distributed many books. Book distribution also occurred at other spots during the Radhastami festival (Sept 3-4) weekend, the preceding weekend, and through smart boxes placed in various stores and establishments.

In this book distribution effort:
  • At least 29 devotees participated
  • 1046 books were distributed

On behalf of Team ISV, we are grateful to devotees for their participation, Sankirtana leaders for their planning, and donors for their contributions.

MSF of Loving Exchanges ki Jaya!

Yours in service,

Raxit Jariwalla

Hare Krishna Prabhu

Please accept my humble obeisances, All glories to Srila Prabhupada..

It was a wonderful event and because of the enthusiasm of people, people were more encouraged and even at 10 pm, we were motivated to finish of the last few boxes from last year just to supplement the extra books from this lot.. By experience, we even devised faster ways to pack books in assembly line and it was a good team work experience.
The atmosphere was really party like with the nice kirtans going on and lots of sumptous prasadam.
For those who couldn't come, you really missed it and hope you are able to participate next time.

Thanks to everybody.

Subject: Maha Book Packing Party - coming up on this weekend !

Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva!

We are humbly  inviting everyone for the maha packing party which is going to be on coming Saturday(10 am to 10 pm) and Sunday(10 am to 3.30 pm) i.e. on Sept 17th and 18th. Vaisesika Prabhu and the devotees  decided to distribute atleast 32000 books through out the bay area during December marathon, it starts in October first weekend and ends in January first weekend. And this maha packing service is the preparation for the coming marathon. Vaisesika Prabhu wants this service should be done like a party with hundreds of devotees, full of prasadam, kirtan, Krishna katha and with various  refreshments. we can remember the Krishna in the association of devotees throughout the day  through chanting His holyname and listening to Krishna katha while packing the books and this is an extraordinary service. Book packing is the part of book distribution, even if you help in packing the books, you will be counted as one of the book distributors. This is very important event to make December marathon grand successful.

So far 60 to 70 devotees expressed willingness to come for this event. Still we are looking for more and more to make it Mega Event in ISV. We are planning to do some photo and video session during this party.  We might not have seen before thousands of books spread all over the area, please have darshan of these transcendental literature. You may come for as much time as you desire. Every effort counts. Do you have friends and relatives? tell them as well about the maha packing party and bring them with you.Maha packing is fun and easy for every one. At the end of the day you'll go home with a blissful mood in the transcendental happiness.

On behalf of ISV temple, thanks to everyone who expressed willingness to participate in the maha packing party. I would like to take an opportunity to thank everyone else also for so kindly helping with various temple events like garland making, cooking, cleaning the temple, college preaching, book distribution, smart box, little krishna kidz, anand vardhan campaign, and motel gita teams. And please do come all the teams to participate in this mega fun event.

Every one through out the bay area are invited !

Thank you very much.
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
Krishna Dharma Das
