We welcome you and your family to join us for Sunday feast program this week filled with bhajans, spiritual discussion, arotik and delicious feast.

Selfless service is the deepest expression of divine love. Madhavedra Puri sowed the seeds of prema-bhakti within the Madhava sampradaya and he exemplifies selfless service in action. Within the pages of the Chaitanya Charitamrta, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu glorifies Sila Madhavendra Puri's devotional service. Those who walk the spiritual path can gain deep insight and wisdom from the example and many lessons illustrated by the glories of Madhvendra Puri.

Grand Gaura Purnima Celebrations @ ISV!

With great happiness in our hearts, we welcome you all to the Grand Gaura Purnima celebrations this Wednesday at ISV. Gaura Purnima is the auspicious appearance day of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (who is also known as Gauranga due to His golden complexion), and this year we are celebrating the 532nd anniversary of His appearance on March 20, 2019. This festival also marks the beginning of the New Year for Gaudiya Vaishnavas.

WEDNESDAY, MAR 20 - GRAND GAURA PURNIMA CELEBRATIONS


The Supreme Lord Sri Krishna appeared as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu to establish Sankirtana (chanting of the Holy Names) – the Yuga Dharma for this age of Kali. He appeared on Phalguni Purnima, the full moon day in the month of Phalguna, (Feb-March) in the year 1486 AD (1407 Shakabda) at Sridham Mayapura as the son of Sri Jagannath Mishra and Srimati Sachidevi. His parents named him Nimai since he was born under a nimba (neem) tree in the courtyard of His paternal house. His appearance day is celebrated as Gaura Purnima.

The celebrations begins in the morning with Mangala arati and spans the whole day filled with kirtans, spiritual discourses and prasadam.
