the temple. (Including the Check Cashing store, the barber shop, etc.) We will also not be able to park along the wall adjacent to the temple. The landlord of these shops has a new parking policy and will tow any cars parked there that are not patrons of their shops.

Street side parking is available on streets near the intersection of Del Mar Ave and Lynnhaven Dr (for example on Lynnhaven Dr, on Roenoke Way, on Del Mar Ave, etc.). If you park your car in front of a home, please do not block their driveway. Del Mar Ave runs parallel to Bascom ave. There is a small drive way (belongs to Steetlight Records; you can see this on Google maps satellite view) that joins Bascom and Del Mar Ave
located in between Lynnhaven Dr and Roenoke Way. This is a short cut way to walk to the temple after parking your car.

Fwd: Our New Newsletter

Dear Devotees

Please accept my respectful obesisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Our announcements, Facebook, websites have helped increasing awareness and presence of ISV in Bay area and in the world.

Now, we aspire to improve quality of our announcements , Website and outreach initiatives, similar to something in mail below.

But we find ourselves practically with only Dmitriy prabhu, Nilesh prabhu and Ramanand Sakha Prabhu doing seva in website and other related services. ( and all 3 do lot and lot of other services for our temple)

One would presume this problem should not exists in Silicon Valley, where so many people work just for IT companies, but to tell the truth we do not have anyone else on this.

Small animals like Squirrels were rolling on ground and bringing sand from their body to fill the gaps in construction of bridge to Lanka and Lord Sri Ram was very pleased with squirrels and rolled His 3 fingers on their back.  You can see the marks on generations that has followed for those squirrels.

So, any small service done for Krishna gives eternal benefits.

If you have the skill set and  feel inspired to help ISV in announcements, website related services please contact His Grace Dmitriy Prabhu, Nilesh prabhu, Ramanand Sakha prabhu or myself.

If required, we can set up a 1-2 training classes for devotees who wish to volunteer on this.

Your humble servant
Damodara Vamsidhari Das (Deepak Chandani)

BIG Harinama Performance :Friday :Palo Alto: starting 6:59 pm/ Satya Deva Prabhu and Vaisesika Pr in ISV

Dear esteemed ISV Devotees,

Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Big Harinama performance with massive book distribution.

Srila Rupa Goswami glorifies the Harinama and writes in Sri Namaastaka in text 6 :
"O Holy Name, You manifest two forms: the Supreme Person You designate, and the sound vibration that designates. We know that the second form is more merciful than the first, because even if a person offends Your first form in many ways, You plunge him into an ocean of transcendental bliss if he serves Your second form with his voice."

Chanting the Holy Names is the Yuga Dharma and Yagya, and the only sure way for transcending miseries in this age of Kali

'Getting to know each other' - A Transcendental Contest

"Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success" - Henry Ford

In order to work together and succeed individually and collectively, it is very important for us to know each other because it helps us feel bonded to each other. This spiritual bonding helps us to inspire each other in our devotional service. For example, we may work with a devotee for few hours a week in order to accomplish a particular task, but we may not know how, inspite of being a busy working parent, he manages to read Srila Prabhupad's books everyday without fail. Simply by knowing this we can truly appreciate the devotee and get inspiration from him to enhance our devotional skills. Also, when we take the extra step to know more about those who visit the temple and those whom we meet during our sankirtan, then they feel accepted and have a sense of belonging. This is very pleasing to Lord Krishna & all our acaryas.

With this goal in mind we'd like to encourage you participate in 'Getting to know each other' - A Transcendental Contest. All you need to do is to just follow the simple instructions mentioned below and personally interact with many souls & get to know more about them.

Instructions:-

1. Click here to download the form. Print the downloaded form.

2. Meet the individuals & ask whether they have executed any of the activities mentioned in the sheet. If so, then get their autographs next to the activities they have executed.
(Questions/Activities provided in the sheet are aimed to enhance interaction between individuals at various levels & age groups. If the person you meet has not executed any of the activities mentioned then you may ask them about one unique talent/ability that they appreciate in themselves & enter it in the empty cell in the additional sheet & get his/her autograph next to it)

3. Fill in 'Your Name' & the 'Total # of persons you met'

4 Scan and email the form to ' report2isv@gmail.com' before Feb 13th 2011 5:00pm PST.. If you are at ISV, then you may also handover the sheets to 'Malini Mathaji / Ramanada Sakha Prabhu'.

Final Results:-

The names of all participants will be included in our official MSF offering to Srila Prabhupad. Top 3 devotees who go out of their way to interact with more souls will be awarded with special transcendetal awards.

With Gratitude,
On Behalf of Team ISV,
Your Servants,

Brief Bio of Swami ji

Hanumat Presaka Swami grew up in California and graduated in psychology from the University of California in 1970, with a minor in biology and electrical engineering. During his doctoral studies at Chicago's Northwestern University, he participated in the renowned Second City Improvisational Theatre. Convinced that Western knowledge could be complimented by a deep study of Oriental wisdom, with permission of his mentor, John Campbell, President of the American Psychology Association, he headed to the East, where he obtained a black belt in Uechi Ryu and Okinawan Karate.

Shortly thereafter, he took his vows as a brahmacari, novice monk, from Srila A.C.Bhakti vedanta Swami and reconfirmed those vows as a sanyasin (life long monk) in 1984. In addition to his deep internal austerity, study and teaching in Bengali Vaisnava Vedanta, since 1990 Hanumat Presaka Swami has developed an extensive program of external lecturing and travel. This has included work as associate director of the Bhakti vedanta Institute and Ranganiketan Manipur Cultural Arts Troupe, an international cultural tour with artists and musicians from the remote Himalayan kingdom of Manipur. This troupe organized two World Congresses for the Synthesis of Science & Religion with the participation of Nobel Laureates such as George Wald, Charles Townes, Sir John Eccles; President of the World Council of Churches, the Dalai Lama and many others.

Hanumat Presaka Swami was the chief guest for a prominent National Seminar on Science and Technology in Ancient India, organized by the University of Calcutta and most recently spoke at the National Conference on Psychotherapy in Peru. Hanumat Presaka Swami is presently General Secretary for NIOS (North American Institute for Oriental and Classical Studies) in Tennessee and a regular lecturer with the Institute for Classical Oriental & Occidental Studies at the highly esteemed Ricardo Palma University in Lima, Peru.

Hanumat Presaka Swami's interests increasingly turn more toward individual education in techniques, introspection and meditation. However, he still actively participates in seminars, lectures and his organizations. In S eptember 2005 he organized "A Festival of Ancient Indian Culture" sponsored by several universities in Peru . The participation from the Ambassador of India and other renowned international scholars formed the Symposium on Oriental Social Philosophy that is hoped to help in developing a sought-after enlightened world social philosophy. He recently organized a week-long festival, "Bharatiya Sanskriti", showcasing classical Vedic culture & philosophy at the University of San Marcos, Peru , where he is a visiting professor.www.bhati.org
