Dearest ISV Devotees,

Please accept my humble obeisances.  All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

It has been a while since I have last reported on the progress of our new property in Mountain View.

Since that time we have had two programs at the property.  The first program was held on June 9th with class given by HH BV Madhava Maharaja and an ecstatic kitrtan led by HH Vaisasika Prabhu.  The second program was a memorial service for Purusottam Bhai, father of Dilip Bhai with a surprise visit by HH Giriraja Swami.  Prasadam was donated by Dilip Prabhu and beautiful bhajans were chanted throughout the day.  The temple was filled with about 170 people and it was a pleasure to have so much room!

Since then, Akruranatha Prabhu and Raxit Prabhu have been invited to the homes of some of the families who were in attendance at the memorial.  Donations were given and friendships were made.  We are hoping to add many of those families to our team ISV!

We have also had visits from HH Gopal Krsna Maharaja,  HH Hridayananda Maharaja, HH Devamrta Swami, HH Jaya Advaita Swami, HH Kesava Barati Goswami and other senior devotees.  All were impressed with the property and the location and are very excited about this new phase of the ISV project!

For the past two months, I have been working with Peter, our architect, to finalize the details and prepare the blueprints for submission for building permits.  Peter has also been working with different experts to finalize the drawings for plumbing and electrical work.

Designing the kitchen has been very time consuming.  Both the City of Mountain View and the Santa Clara County Health Dept. are very particular regarding kitchen requirements.

Although our plans are ready to submit to the City for building permits, we must first submit the plans along with the specs of all kitchen equipment we intend to install, samples of all kitchen flooring and wall coverings (the walls in the kitchen are required to be covered by a non stick vinyl or stainless steel)AND our intended menu!  The health dept. wants to know what type of foods we will prepare.

This approval process takes at least 4 weeks.  Once the SC County Health inspectors approve the plan, we may then submit the plan to the City of Mountain View for building permits.  It takes at least 6 weeks to receive building permits from the City of Mountain View.

I have also submitted the plans to 2 contractors for bids.  I am expecting these bids by the end of the week. I am also working with Guru Krsna dasa, a licensed contractor, who has offered to inspect the details of the bids we receive and help us negotiate the best price.  Once we receive the bids and hire the contractor, we will be able to determine a more accurate move in date.

Dear devotees, from the information I have received so far, I suspect that we will need another 200K–250K to complete this project.   I wish there were ways to economize, but because of the amount of cooking we do we are required to have a commercial kitchen, and the legal regulations make it time consuming and expensive (we need proper grease traps, ventilation hood, fire sprinklers, etc.)  We are hoping that we will be able to collect substantial donations at our Janmastami festival.  Please join me in one more marathon to accomplish our goals and complete our new home for Sri Sri Radha Madana Mohana, Mahaprabhu and Lord Narasmhadev.

Yours in service to ISV,

Jagarini dd
