After I woke from my slumber, Something changed in me

Hare Krishna Dear Devotees,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada.
Yesterday was the most ecstatic day of book distribution. As always, it was the most sublime experience. By the mercy of Bhaktivinoda Thakur, we were able to distribute 2 Srimad Bhagavatam sets!

We were all in distress and anxiety, since no one was opening their door to this precious message. We finally decided that we would keep going on, and pray to Bhaktivinoda Thakur. The first door we knocked on, there was yoga teacher, who accepted a 'Chant and Be Happy' book. She even exclaimed, “Wow, I love that title.” In that way she gained ajnaata sukriti.

--After I woke from my slumber...

The second house we walked to a man opened the door. He had just woken up from his sleep and was quite disturbed. He very succinctly and impolitely conveyed the message that the books were of minimal interest to him. He put his hand on the door and was about to close it. But without getting offended, holding a smiling face, and saying that they would not take much of his time, Malini Mathaji and Sivakumar Prabhu unrelentingly preached to him the glories of this great book. It was the incarnation of Godhead choosing to come in to their house. Coming out of his sleep, he started to appreciate this message. Jiv Jago Gauracandra Bole! Kota Nidra Jao maya, pisachira kole!  After about 10 minutes of preaching outside their door, we found ourselves sitting on the couch and having a very nice conversation. To our excitement and surprise, they were from the holy place of Sri Rangam. They had 2 children who were very inclined to spiritual life and liked to hear Krishna katha. They were very happy to receive the Srimad Bhagavatam. We had a beautiful installation ceremony in front of their altar, performed by Malini Mathaji.  After we came out of their house, we were surprised at the transformation that had occurred in just a half an hour. We were so fired up with this inspirational and encouraging occurrence, we pushed on and went to the next house.

--Something changed in me...

The door of the next house was open and one lady came out. We were talking with here about Srimad Bhagavatam, but she said she had all the books and her brother-in-law was big time into ISKCON.We could not believe that she had the Bhagavatam set. The conversation went on and her husband came home. As we talked with him we found him to be very straightforward, a rare quality in this Kali Yuga. He replied to our questions very honestly and even made us laugh through his humorous jokes. He was an avid reader of all varieties of books. Seeing these gem among books, and knowing that he did not have all of them he said that he will take them! Later on we went into his house and he was really appreciative of what we were doing, and invited us to distribute in his office, and went to the extent of saying that he would even get us contacts and people to spread this movement. Just before we were about to leave, he said, “I am going to be very honest with you. If I had given these books a second thought, they would not be sitting in this house right now. But something inside me changed, and my heart pushed me into to taking this books. Thank you so much.” We were so touched and exhilarated.

The Magical Formula

Through these three incidents, we experienced the power of prayer and  the need of the sleeping souls. We also realized that we are not really the doers, because our effort and the change caused of the Supersoul can only make the magic of acceptance occur. This is the formula. When it is enhanced with our ardent prayers to Bhaktivinoda Thakur, it will undoubtedly work wonders.
So we encourage all of you to go out and experience this great nectar of book distribution for yourselves, and help plunder the contents of the store house of prema!

All Glories to Bhaktivinoda Thakura!
Your insignificant servant,
Poojha Priyadarshini
