Hare Krsna!

Dear Friends,

Hope this meets you all well. Srila Prabhupada told that chanting the mahamantra means to address Lord Krishna. We talk to him by calling His name. But we may wonder, how does the Lord feel about those who chant? Does He notice them? Yes, Krishna notices chanters even if they don't notice them - and He thinks of them. One of the acharyas said, "When someone chants the Lord's name, the Lord's mind dwells on him. Krishna thinks, "This person belongs to Me. I will always protect Him."

Such is the effect of kirtana, or chanting the holy names of God. Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu advented 500 years ago in order to propagate the chanting of Hare Krsna Mahamantra, which is the prescribed form of worship for this age of Kali. This chanting can cleanse the heart of a sincere chanter and has the power to take one directly to the abode of Krishna.

With great happiness in our hearts, we welcome you to the ISKCON of Silicon Valley (ISV) where you can nourish your spiritual life. We would like to invite you to the ISKCON of Silicon Valley for the events and classes this week.

SCIENCE & SPIRITUALITY

FROM ANTITHESIS TO SYNTHESIS (PART II)

In recent times, the media is projecting the two to be at odds with each other. However, if we look at the essential qualities to succeed in one's pursuit of inquiry, we will be able to appreciate the teachings of the Vaisnava teachers and develop a more accommodating and unifying worldview. Taking lessons from Shri Brahma ji, the ideal scientist and saint, please join us for an engaging discussion on this topic of relevance to one and all.

Speaker: H.G Hariguru Das

7.30 – 10.00am: Brahma Samhita Recitation & Discourse on "Science & Spirituality - Part II"

10.00 am: Guru Puja and Prasadam

February 22 - The Complete Yoga Package

You are invited to the complete yoga package which includes Yoga asanas, breathing exercises (pranayama), Vedic wisdom, and introspective meditation. We strive diligently to overcome many fears, however the necessary security measures like insurances, helmets, health checkups fail to free us from a disconcerting sense of fear and insecurity. The Vedic texts explain that all fear originates in an unbalanced material conception of life. Beyond the stage of material activity that preoccupies our mind lies a vast, unexplored realm of spiritual tranquility.

VEDIC ACADEMY KRISHNA CLASSES : Parallel Session for Kids which includes Vedic stories, Yoga, Vedic Math, Music Lessons and much more.

The Sankirtana Movement was inaguarated by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu about 500 years ago and has been handed down to all of us through the parampara, or the disciplic succession. If it was not for the compassion of these great Vaishnava teachers, we would not be receiving the divine mercy of the Supreme Lord.

Please join us in this wonderful presentation that will take you on a journey through the wonderful history  to seek inspiration in developing the proper mood to receive that same  mercy and continue this "Movement of Compassion".

Speakers: H.G. Sri Govinda Datta Das, H.G. Srikumar Das & H.G. Harivamsa Das

4.00 – 5.45pm: Presentation on "The Movement of Compassion"

6.00pm: Arotik followed by Sandhya Arati and Prasadam

First held in 1966 at the request of Srila Prabhupada (the founder of the Hare Krishna movement), the Sunday Love Feast has evolved as an integrated celebration of Lord Krishna’s pastimes: chanting, hearing spiritual knowledge, dancing, eating and generally sharing the bliss of Lord Krsna’s presence. Since then, this weekly Sunday Love Feast festival is celebrated in all Hare Krishna temples around the world. We extend a warm and hearty welcome to you, your friends and family. Please join us at ISV for this wonderful event every Sunday.

Furthermore, to offer sumptuous prasadam to the devotees is an auspicious activity. If you would like to sponsor a Sunday Feast, to commemorate a special occasion (like birthday or wedding anniversary) or just in general, please write to us at isvconnect@gmail.com. We will offer the bhoga to the Deities and serve prasadam to all the devotees in your name. Donation amount for the Sunday Feast is $301 only.
