HARE KRSNA!

Dear Friends,

Hope this meets you all well.

When we love someone, the desire to communicate, to exchange gifts, or to spend time together may be very intense. We usually experience feelings of separation if our beloved is not available, if we cannot see or hear from them. When we allow ourselves to fall back in love with the Lord, this experience of loving and being loved is intensified exponentially. As we make prayers to the Lord, as we respectfully and lovingly address those special helpers who have an intimate relationship with the Supreme Lord, we enter into the culture of pure devotion. By falling back in love with Krsna, we gradually become candidates qualified to enter the realm of pure love.

With great happiness in our hearts, we welcome you ISKCON of Silicon Valley (ISV) for our classes and events this week!

It is rare to find a classic which portrays the highest loving exchanges, adventure, humor, biography, autobiography and hostory of great legends, all in one. This Saturday, our speaker will take us through a brief journey through some of the pastimes of such legendary devotees and their teachings from Srimad Bhagavatam

APRIL 12 - The Complete Yoga Package

MODULE II: SELF MANAGER

SESSION 3: POWER OF FAITH

6.00 pm - 8.00 pm

You are invited to a holistic approach to rejuvenate the body, mind and soul. This complete yoga package includes enlivening Yoga asanas, refreshing  breathing exercises (pranayama), introspective meditation, and Vedic wisdom.  Yoga asanas like Sun Salutation increases vitality, overall health and improve the immune system.  Pranayama eliminates stress, helps develop a sense of inner peace and calm. Meditation helps in overcoming negative emotions, facilitates a calm and peaceful mind. Discussion on Vedic philosophy  facilitates personal  discovery,  growth and advancement in our spiritual journey.

In times of pain and grief, the prayerful surrender to the will of the lord has the potential of bringing immediate and immense relief. However most people are unable to muster the faith necessary for offering such prayers. The Bhagavad Gita holds a unique position among all the world’s scriptures in that it offers a solid intellectual springboard and a well defined spiritual trajectory for such a leap of faith. Such sensible and verifiable faith does not negate the process of intellectual explanation or dialogue, but it admits that the absolute truth is ultimately beyond logical grasp of our limited minds.

As we continue to hear the glories of Srimad Bhagavatam on Sundays, this week we will  hear about the great meeting between Parikshit Maharaj, the hearer and Sukadeva Goswami, the speaker of this great classic literature. Join us for this enlivening discussion this Sunday evening at ISV!

Speaker: H.G. Sukhesvari Devi Dasi

4.00 – 5.45pm: Presentation on "Part 3: Sukadeva Goswami Speaks Srimad Bhagavatam to Parikshit Maharaj"

6.00pm: Arotik followed by Sandhya Arati and Prasadam

First held in 1966 at the request of Srila Prabhupada (the founder of the Hare Krishna movement), the Sunday Love Feast has evolved as an integrated celebration of Lord Krishna’s pastimes: chanting, hearing spiritual knowledge, dancing, eating and generally sharing the bliss of Lord Krsna’s presence. Since then, this weekly Sunday Love Feast festival is celebrated in all Hare Krishna temples around the world. We extend a warm and hearty welcome to you, your friends and family. Please join us at ISV for this wonderful event every Sunday.

Furthermore, to offer sumptuous prasadam to the devotees is an auspicious activity. If you would like to sponsor a Sunday Feast, to commemorate a special occasion (like birthday or wedding anniversary) or just in general, please write to us at isvconnect@gmail.com. We will offer the bhoga to the Deities and serve prasadam to all the devotees in your name. Donation amount for the Sunday Feast is $301 only.
