HARE KRSNA!

Dear Friends,

Hope this meets you all well.

“A show of humility will not work, for only after duplicity has been given up can there be bhakti . . . One’s bhajan (worship of Krishna) actually begins when one’s outside and inside are the same.” - HG Vaisesika Das

This week we have:

Wednesday: Discourse on the Srimad Bhagavad Gita  by H.G Balimardana Das

Saturday: Discourse on the Srimad Bhagavatam by H.G Ramananda Sakha Das

Sunday:  Sunday Feast Lecture by H.G Harivamsa Das

We extend a warm welcome to you and your family to join us for the classes and event this week at ISV!

WEDNESDAY, Apr 8 - Bhagavad Gita Discourse

"So, everything begins with faith (Shraddha). For example, the people here have come with a little faith. That faith is like a spark. Now you have to fan it so that it becomes a blazing fire... Just like there is small fire in the charcoal. You fan it, and it will gradually become a big fire. So this Krishna consciousness movement is fanning that spiritual spark to come into full consciousness. Go on fanning like that. That is the rules and regulation, attending this class, hearing this Srimad-Bhagavatam, Bhagavad-gita. Twenty-four hours be engaged. That is real business." -Srimad-Bhägavatam 1.15.44 - Los Angeles, December 22, 1973.

Time: 6.00 – 8.00pm

6:00pm: Bhagavad Gita Discourse by H.G Balimardana Das

8.00pm: Arati followed by Prasadam

SATURDAY, Apr 11 - SRIMAD BHAGAVATAM DISCOURSE

Srimad Bhagavatam 1.7.7 - "Simply by giving aural reception to this Vedic literature, the feeling for loving devotional service to Lord Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, sprouts up at once to extinguish the fire of lamentation, illusion and fearfulness." In his purport to the same verse, Srila Prabhupad writes  -  "Everyone is full of lamentation at every moment, he is after the mirage of illusory things, and he is always afraid of his supposed enemy. These are the primary symptoms of material disease. And it is definitely suggested herein simply by hearing the message of Srimad-Bhagavatam one gets attachment for the Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Krishna, and as soon as this is effected the symptoms of the material diseases disappear."

Please join us for our weekly Srimad Bhagavatam discourses every Saturday morning at ISV.

7.30am: Brahma Samita followed by Discourse on Srimad Bhagavatam by H.G Ramanada Sakha Das

THE COMPLETE YOGA PACKAGE

You are invited to the complete yoga package which includes Yoga asanas, breathing exercises (pranayama), Vedic wisdom, and introspective meditation. We strive diligently to overcome many fears, however the necessary security measures like insurances, helmets, health checkups fail to remove from us a disconcerting sense of fear and insecurity. The Vedic texts explain that all fear originates in an unbalanced material conception of life. Beyond the stage of material activity that preoccupies our mind lies a vast, unexplored realm of spiritual tranquility.

SUNDAY, Apr 12 - Ramayana – A Tale of Selfless Service

As soon as we hear the word “Ramayana” – immediately we think of the divine forms of Sita and Rama, how Rama was banished from Ayodhya, his travels in the forest of Dandakaranya and a great battle with the demon King of Lanka, Ravana. However in this seminar, we will bring
out the hidden jewels of this epic tale, the glorious character of the selfless servants of Sita and Rama – Jatayu, Bharata, Laxman, Vibhishana, Hanuman, and the list goes on.  Please join us in understanding and learning from the lives of these servants to help us in refining our own devotional service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
