HARE KRSNA!

Dear Friends,

Hope this meets you all well.

"Focusing the mind on Krishna by performing devotional service is not only completely satisfying, but it is also the most effective way to make progress toward spiritual perfection."- HG Vaisesika Dasa

Today is the auspicious beginning of holy month of Kartika. Kartika (Damodar) is the best, the purest of purifiers, and most glorious of all months. Kartika month is particularly dear to Lord Sri Krishna. This month is full of bhakta vatsalya. Any vrata, even the smallest, will yield huge results. The effect of performing a Kartika Vrata lasts for one hundred lifetimes, Kartika or the festival of offering lamps to Lord Krishna, glorifies Lord Krishna’s pastime of being bound with ropes by Mother Yashoda.

Every day, devotees come to the Temple and offer a candle or ghee lamp to Lord Damodara.  The Damodarastakam, a series of eight beautiful verses by the great sage Satyavrata Muni is sung daily in the morning and evening.

This week we have:

Wednesday: Bhagavad Gita Discourse by H.G Balimardan Das

Saturday: "Prayers of Surrender by Gajendra" - Srimad Bhagavatam Discourse by H.G Damodar Vamsidhari Das

Sunday:  Krishnaween & Evening of Kirtan

We extend a warm welcome to you and your family to join us for the classes and event this week at ISV!
