Dear Friends and Patrons

Hope this meets you all well and experiencing Lord Krsna's love!

Though our lives are fleeting, they are made up of a series of moments, any one of which we may use to attain the supreme perfection of life by taking shelter of Krishna.

Sukadeva Goswami tells us in Srimad-Bhagavatam the story of Maharaja Khatvanga who perfected his life within an instant. Srila Prabhupada summarizes Khatvanga's achievement:

King Khatvanga went to assist the demigods, and he was rewarded. When asked what he wanted, he replied, "I want to know how long I shall live." "Not very long," they said. "A second." He at once transferred his thoughts to Krishna and surrendered. (Srila Prabhupada; Back to Godhead Magazine #45)

We extend a warm welcome to you and your family to join us for the classes and events this weekend at ISV!

Sri Brihad-bhagavatamrita is an epic work composed in Sanskrit during the sixteenth century by Sanatana Goswami, one of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's leading disciples. It is one of the first books written by any of the Six Goswamis of Vrindavan. The Bhagavatamrita is rooted in ancient history. It is the appendix to the sage Jaimini Rishi's version of the historical saga Mahabharata, and was spoken by the hero of the Srimad-Bhagavatam, King Pariksit, to his mother, just moments before the king's death.
