VEDIC ACADEMY FOR CHILDREN Dear Friends, Hope this meets you all well.  We are excited to announce Vedic Academy's "Open House 2014" event to be held at the ISKCON of Silicon Valley (ISV) on Sunday, August 10th from 11 am - 12.30 pm.  Vedic Academy is an educational initiative of  ISV that aims to provide holistic education for the whole child (mind, body and soul) to develop integrity, compassion and more importantly devotion to God. We at, Vedic Academy, believe that education culminates in character & integrity. Modern society has started discovering that human beings have not just physical needs, but also emotional and spiritual needs. Numerous surveys have confirmed that a child without a spiritual basis to his life easily falls prey to bad habits. A spiritually trained and guided child, on the other hand, is well equipped to counter harmful influences and confidently faces the stresses and tensions of modern life. Therefore,Vedic Academy, aims to help responsible parents in raising their children by offering systematic and scientific training in spiritual culture and wisdom. We offer different programs for children of Silicon Valley from age groups 3- 15. One of the highlights of Vedic Academy is our "Vaikuntha Children Sunday School" which is once a week program (every Sunday evening) to train children in character building, personality development, ethical and spiritual values, Vedic culture and traditions, story-telling, devotional music and Sanskrit Shloka recitation. Thus we aim to help them become intelligent and responsible leaders of the family, the country and the world in the future. VAIKUNTHA CHILDREN SUNDAY SCHOOL YEAR 2014 - 15 The 2014 - 15 school year for Vaikuntha Children Sunday school will begin next week on the auspicious Balaram Jayanthi on August 10th.  Class timings on August 10th: Damodar class (3-6yrs): 10:30AM-11:30AM @ Krishna Room Gopinath class (6-9yrs): 10:30AM-11:30AM @ Balaram Room Madanmohan class & Kaisora class (9-15yrs): 9:30-10:30AM @ Krishna Room Note this time is only for the first class, to parallel with Balaram Jayanti celebrations. We will have our usual class timings thereafter. Sunday school open house will be starting 11AM on August 10 (outside temple room). This is another opportunity for parents who would like to enroll their children in Sunday school. We will be handing out welcome package with our Sunday school calendar, activities planned and curriculum that will be covered for each class over 2014-15.
