HARE KRSNA!

Dear Friends,

Hope this meets you all well.

Today is the auspicious Govardhan Puja. The day after Diwali is referred to as Annakuta, or Govardhan Puja. On this day the inhabitants of Vrindavan (Lord Krishna’s abode on Earth) would hold a harvest festival in honor of King Indra, the demigod who provided the rains essential for the harvest.

Here at ISV, one of our primary services is to reach out to people and introduce them to the joyful process of Krsna consciouness through the message spoken by the Lord Himself - 'The Bhagavad Gita'. This is a powerful literature that can change people's lives if they can simply pay attention to this message.

The results have been amazing as we see people transforming their lives through this knowledge and taking to spiritual life joyously. As we continue in this journey to spread Krsna consciousness all over the world, we would like provide an opportunity for all of you to contribute to this mission and thus make your way to the eternal abode of the Lord, Goloka Vrindavan.

We humbly request you to help sponsor sets of Bhagavad Gita so that we could distribute them in Motels, Hospitals, Chapels, Prison houses etc.

Check out this video for details:

For every set of Gita you sponsor, you are offering a real pearl that would go in the Garland that would be adorned by Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Madanmohan at ISV.

For those who donate substantially, 20 cases of Bhagavad Gita or more ($2160) will get an unique opportunity.

  • An exalted devotee will pray for your residence at Govardhan.
  • H.G Vaiseika Prabhu will build a small house for you by stacking stones at the foot of Sri Govardhan. We can only accept 50 requests out of which 18 are already reserved. Please reserve by November 15th.

Today being the auspicious occasion of Govardhan Puja, let us all come together and express our devotion to Krsna by offering him a pearl garland in the form of sponsoring/distributing Bhagavad Gitas to everyone in the world.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12 - SRI GOVARDHAN PUJA

Govardhana Puja, Go-Puja and Annakuta are all connected with the story of Lord Krishna lifting Govardhana Hill to protect the inhabitants of Vrindavan. On this day, a hill of sweets is made from food prepared by the devotees, which is then offered to the Deities, and subsequently distributed to everyone. This is known as the “annakuta” ceremony. Cows are honoured as part of the festivities as well.

We extend a warm invitation to you to join us in this festival this Thursday evening!
