HARE KRSNA!

Dear Friends,

Hope this meets you all well. The foundation of a building, although externally cannot be seen, is what gives it strength and holds it up. So our mind is stable when it has a strong spiritual foundation. Storms may come, reversals may come, but if we have that foundation of inner fulfillment, we deal with it with a very clear and practical mind, and it does not disturb us. Because we are connected to something that is immortal, we are connected to the truth that is our home. Our real home is where there is comfort, where there is love, where there is affection, where there is happiness, and where there is trust. So it's important that we find the path to our real home in the spiritual world which is filled with knowledge, eternity and bliss. And this place is none other than Goloka Vrindavana, the place where everyone is connected to Lord Krishna in a direct loving relationship.

With great happiness in our hearts, we welcome you ISKCON of Silicon Valley (ISV) for our classes and events this week!

Wednesday, March 19 - Bhagavad Gita Class

PRAYERS FOR PURE DEVOTIONAL SERVICE

Prayer is a very powerful tool to submit ourselves and connect with God. But it is important to have the right knowledge of how to pray and what to say. In Srimad Bhagavatam, there are many instances in the Third and Fourth Cantos in which devotees pray to the Lord simply to be engaged in His service, and nothing else. (SB 3.4.15, 3.25.34, 3.25.36, 4.8.22, 4.9.10 and 4.20.24)

This Wednesday night, we will examine these verses and discuss how to apply them in our lives.

Speaker: H.G. Vaisesika Das

Time: 6.00 – 8.00pm

Discourse will be followed by Sandhya Arati and Prasadam

Saturday, March 22 - Srimad Bhagavatam

UDDHAVA'S REMEMBRANCE OF LORD KRSNA

In the Srimad Bhagavatam, there is a beautiful conversation between Uddhava and Mahatma Vidura, where the latter recounts his memories of Sri Krsna's sweet pastimes in Vrindavana and Dwaraka. Please join us to hear and remember the glorious pastimes of the Supreme Lord as explained by Uddhava, one of the most intimate devotees of Sri Krsna.

Speaker: H.G Gandharvika Radha Devi Dasi

7.30 – 10.00am: Brahma Samhita Recitation & Discourse on "Uddhava's Remembrance of Lord Krsna"

10.00 am: Guru Puja and Prasadam

March 22 - The Complete Yoga Package

You are invited to the complete yoga package which includes Yoga asanas, breathing exercises (pranayama), Vedic wisdom, and introspective meditation. We strive diligently to overcome many fears, however the necessary security measures like insurances, helmets, health checkups fail to free us from a disconcerting sense of fear and insecurity. The Vedic texts explain that all fear originates in an unbalanced material conception of life. Beyond the stage of material activity that preoccupies our mind lies a vast, unexplored realm of spiritual tranquility.

VEDIC ACADEMY KRISHNA CLASSES : Parallel Session for Kids which includes Vedic stories, Yoga, Vedic Math, Music Lessons and much more.

Sunday, March 23 - Sunday Love Feast

HOME DEITY WORSHIP

When Deity worship at home takes place and it is conducted properly, the Lord very kindly agrees to appear in the devotee's own home, and He accepts the family's worship, making the home into a temple. Please join us for an engaging discussion on the importance and process of worshipping Deities at home by a very special visiting speaker this Sunday at ISV.

Speaker: H.G. Jayananda Das

4.00 – 5.45pm: Presentation on "Home Deity Worship"

6.00pm: Arotik followed by Sandhya Arati and Prasadam

First held in 1966 at the request of Srila Prabhupada (the founder of the Hare Krishna movement), the Sunday Love Feast has evolved as an integrated celebration of Lord Krishna’s pastimes: chanting, hearing spiritual knowledge, dancing, eating and generally sharing the bliss of Lord Krsna’s presence. Since then, this weekly Sunday Love Feast festival is celebrated in all Hare Krishna temples around the world. We extend a warm and hearty welcome to you, your friends and family. Please join us at ISV for this wonderful event every Sunday.

Furthermore, to offer sumptuous prasadam to the devotees is an auspicious activity. If you would like to sponsor a Sunday Feast, to commemorate a special occasion (like birthday or wedding anniversary) or just in general, please write to us at isvconnect@gmail.com. We will offer the bhoga to the Deities and serve prasadam to all the devotees in your name. Donation amount for the Sunday Feast is $301 only.
