HARE KRSNA!

Dear Friends,

Hope this meets you all well. The reason that a child is able to walk is because the ability is inherent within him or her. If the ability to walk was not inherent within the child, it would never be able to learn walking. But through practice, we develop our inherent abilities. And that is the way of spiritual life too. To become peaceful and happy and to take shelter of God even amid trying circumstances is actually inherent within the soul. But it takes practice. And along with practice, two qualities are very important: perseverance and patience. We must be enthused to persevere. But at the same time, it may take some time. So we must persevere with patience.

With great happiness in our hearts, we welcome you to the ISKCON of Silicon Valley (ISV) where you can nourish your spiritual life. We would like to invite you to the ISKCON of Silicon Valley for the events and classes this week.

Wednesday, March 5 - Bhagavad Gita Class

INCREASING ONE'S APPRECIATING CAPACITY

READING FROM CAITANYA CARITAMRITA

It is stated in the Caitanya Caritamrita: "The Lord's pastimes are differentiated according to the appreciating capacity of the different types of bodies of the living entities. The Supreme Lord bestows the most merciful benediction upon human society when He appears in His human form. It is then that humanity gets the opportunity to engage in different kinds of eternal service to the Lord." Srila Prabhupada explains that one's advancement can be measured by one's appreciating capacity. Join us for this wonderful discourse as we hear about how to attrac the attention of Lord Caitanya and how to increase one's appreciating capacity.

Speaker: H.G Vaisesika Das

7.30 – 10.00am: Brahma Samhita Recitation & Discourse on "Increasing One's Appreciating Capacity"

10.00 am: Guru Puja and Prasadam

HEARING & CHANTING ABOUT LORD CAITANYA LEADS TO PERFECTION

In this degrading age of Kali, to get inclined to spiritual life seems very difficult. But the highest purpose of human existence is to reawaken the original pure consciousness of being in loving relationship with Krsna and go back to Godhead. Even though this age of Kali is full of faults, there is a great benediction. It is nothing but the  wonderful pastimes and teachings of Lord Caitanya which when heard and chanted leads to perfection in devotional service. Please join us as we hear together the wonderful pastimes and teachings of the most merciful of all incarnations, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu.

First held in 1966 at the request of Srila Prabhupada (the founder of the Hare Krishna movement), the Sunday Love Feast has evolved as an integrated celebration of Lord Krishna’s pastimes: chanting, hearing spiritual knowledge, dancing, eating and generally sharing the bliss of Lord Krsna’s presence. Since then, this weekly Sunday Love Feast festival is celebrated in all Hare Krishna temples around the world. We extend a warm and hearty welcome to you, your friends and family. Please join us at ISV for this wonderful event every Sunday.

Furthermore, to offer sumptuous prasadam to the devotees is an auspicious activity. If you would like to sponsor a Sunday Feast, to commemorate a special occasion (like birthday or wedding anniversary) or just in general, please write to us at isvconnect@gmail.com. We will offer the bhoga to the Deities and serve prasadam to all the devotees in your name. Donation amount for the Sunday Feast is $301 only.
