SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3 - SPECIAL SEMINAR SERIES

DISCOVER THE HIDDEN GEMS AND SECRETS OF SRIMAD BHAGAVATAM - PART I

In this two part seminar, you will learn

  • The science of hermeneutics and how to apply it to Srimad-Bhagavatam
  • How to get clarity and a deeper understanding from your reading of Srimad-Bhagavatam
  • To sharpen your spiritual intellect and thus bring auspiciousness into your life

Hermeneutics is a branch of knowledge that deals with elucidating scriptures. The Srimad-Bhagavatam is considered the topmost collection of all ancient wisdom and was spoken shortly after Lord Krishna’s time on earth. It is a treatise that explains the science of God in detail, including His creation, His eternal activities, the path to attain Him, and the lives of some of His great devotees. Join us for an enlivening seminar in which the presenter, a Vaishnava scholar, will help us to delve deeply into the science of hermeneutics through which one can increase one’s appreciation for Srimad Bhagavatam.

Ravindra Svarupa Dasa is a religious studies scholar and was initiated by A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in 1971. He is an emeritus member of ISKCON's Governing Body Commission in which he served starting in 1987; an emeritus chairman of the North American GBC Continental Committee; the emeritus president of ISKCON of Philadelphia; and is presently an initiating guru in ISKCON. He holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Religion from Temple University and a B.A. in philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania. He has written extensively on Vaishnava philosophy and has used his education to further the discourse of Gaudiya Vaishnava Theology within the context of ISKCON. He is the author of Encounter with the Lord of the Universe: Collected Essays 1978-1983.
